Learn how to fly fish, and get the low-down on why and how to do it by bicycle on this Women’s specific* 2-day bikefishing school. Let Swift Adventure Co. and Emerald Water Anglers guide you through this distinctively Pacific Northwest Experience.
Fly fishing and bicycles have something mesmerizing in common: both deepen our experiences in the great outdoors, challenging us to listen, look and intuit our surroundings in a way that brings us closer to the natural world. Come with us as we fuse our passions with a day of pedaling and casting on the outskirts of Seattle. We’re eager to share a full day of exploring winding roads and meandering rivers, honing our fishy senses, and escaping city life with you.
This 2-day school will teach you the skills you need to continue your bicycle and flyfishing journey.

Day 1, Meet your guides and the group near Rattlesnake Lake. From there we’ll bicycle above the South Fork of the Snoqualmie River with stops to get to know to the essential gear for the bike-fishing fanatic and to nerd out on the ins-and-outs of hauling your travel fishing kit. Once we’re on the river, you’ll be guided through the fundamentals of fly fishing from the art of reading water down to getting a knack for casting with master guide, Kristen Bufe, from Emerald Water Anglers.
On day two, you’ll gather near Skykomish, WA, the gateway to creek fishing in our local mountains. There we’ll explore smaller water in the Cascade Range, where you can apply your new skills under the tutelage of your expert fishing guides.
Please note: this is not an overnight. It is 2 days of back to back moderate cycling and flyfishing instruction.
We will aim to have you back in Seattle by 6pm each day.
Coming from out-of-town? Don’t hesitate to contact us about lodging recommendations and travel logistics, we’re happy to help! Travel without the hassle of bike cases and heavy gear. We have premium gear and bicycles for rent.
