Over this three-day adventure, you’ll pedal miles of primo terrain to reveal some of Hood Canals finest Sea-run Cutthroat spots. Under the tutelage of your guides, courtesy of Emerald Water Anglers, you’ll get to know to the essential gear for the bike-fishing fanatic and nerd out on the ins-and-outs of hauling your travel fishing kit.

Meet your guides and the group at Swift Industries & Swift Adventure Co. in Seattle, WA. From there we will pile in the SACo. adventure wagon and point west toward the finest roads and fishing the Hood Canal has to offer. Once we’re at camp, you’ll be guided through the fundamentals of fly fishing: from the art of reading water down to getting a knack for casting.

Each evening will find us at a new camp where we’ll relax together with delicious open-air meals and good times around a roaring fire to wrap up the day.

Fly fishing and bicycles have something mesmerizing in common: both deepen our experiences in the great outdoors, challenging us to listen, look and intuit our surroundings in a way that brings us closer to the natural world. Come with us as we fuse our passions for a day of pedaling and casting on the outskirts of Seattle. We’re eager to spend the weekend entire exploring winding roads and meandering rivers, honing our fishy senses, and escaping city life with you.


Friday 20th, Meet your guides in downtown Seattle and get swept away to fishy water and winding gravel roads. We will head out to the Olympic Peninsula to start our adventure  high mount via, spend the afternoon learning the essentials of casting & what Salish Sea fish eat, to round out the day with some hood canal fishing.

Saturday 21st, After a hearty breakfast, we will load up our bikes with snacks and fishing gear ready to spend the day out advancing our skills, exploring the forest, and stoping to check out some fishing site and maybe have Hamma Hamma Oysters along the way.

Sunday 22th, After breakfast and packing up camp and hit the water for a few more hours before making our way back into town. If we time it right we will make a stop at Emerald Water Angler HQ so you can load up on stuff you need to get out on your own.

Skills you will gain include:

  • Fundamentals of fly casting & basic casting techniques.
  • Reading Water
  • Basic knots
  • Saltwater food ID & Fly selection

Experience needed:

  • Comfortable riding 20-30 miles with 100-2200″ of gain.
  • Eagerness to learn and have a good time in the outdoors.
